Whether we collect your recycling in a co-mingled (or mixed) form or separately as cardboard and glass it all goes through a similar process. Once it has been removed from the highway by our collection crews it is brought to a Materials Recycling Facility or MRF. Here it is sorted manually and mechanically to separate it into the separate recyclable products. Watch the video to find out exactly what happens.

Once the items have all been separated, they are delivered to re-processing facilities which convert the recycled goods back into their raw materials. These raw materials are then sold to manufacturers who convert them back into a product for us to buy off the shelves.
